Louis Szekely is a middle-aged divorced father of two who is in bad shape. He is also the funniest classically observational stand-up comic ever. His style involves what George Carlin would call "little world" observational humor about the things in life that affect Louie CK, told in an absurdist and just depressing manner.

After high school, he worked as an auto mechanic in Boston, a job he was eventually fired from, before summoning the courage to try stand-up. His first attempt was in 1984 at a comedy club's open mic night, where he was given five minutes of time, but only had two minutes of material.

CK has a long history off the stage as well, writing for numerous late night talk shows and the movie "Pootie Tang", which was based on a bit he had written for The Chris Rock Show. Louie still has a close relationship with Chris Rock and the duo have written two screenplays together.

CK also spent the first seven years of his life in mexican and he retains his Mexican Citizenship

Sitcom to bizzare experiment

In 2006 Louie launched a half-hour sitcom on HBO called "Lucky Louie", starring himself and Pamela Adlon (who also plays a recurring character on CK's new show "Louie"). Although the show was well received by critics, HBO pulled the plug after one season.

CK Then had a recurring role on "Parks and Recreation" as a love interest of Amy Poehler's character. He played the role of a gruff and awkward cop as well as one would expect of Louie CK

In 2009 started his most compelling TV project yet, a comedy on FX simply called "Louie". The show breaks from the traditional sitcom format of "Lucky Louie" and can best be described as being surreal and genuinely unpredictable, sometimes hilarious, sometimes poignant, sometimes relentlessly awkward or soul-crushingly bleak. Non-sequiturs abound and most episodes include a few minutes of Louie working NYC's COmedy Cellar. As of right now "Louie" is still not cancelled, and the network that hosts "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" isn't likey to be worried about controversy
